OES - Spark Spectrometer

Decades of Experience in Optical Emission Spectrometry

The management team of QuantoLux looks back on decades of experience. Their learning curve started in the late 1980s with photomultiplier spectrometers, spark generators with auxiliary gap, lots of EEPROMs and CP/M Software. They pushed innovations with channel photomultipliers and CCDs as the next generation of detectors. With QuantoLux we now challenge conventional technologies and shape the future of OES. New excitation and detection systems bring tons of high-value benefits to our customers. We understand your applications and know your Problems and we focus on solving them.

The QLX product line is a portfolio of stationary benchtop system as well as portable instruments. All Instruments in this line feature our proprietary laser excitation system as well as latest state-of-the art CMOS detectors for improved performance.

Laser-OES offers many benefits and allows to easily handle applications that you never thought possible on your spark spectrometer. All that with less sample prep, shorter measurement times, negligible Argon consumption, and zero maintenance.

QLX1 – re-defining portable metals analysis

QLX1 is a portable laser spectrometer for many applications in the metals industries. It features numerous benefits and closes the gap between handheld devices and mobile spark systems. Metal producers, metal processing businesses, inspection companies and recyclers alike gain value from its unique features.

QLX3 – the benchtop laser spectrometer – future of elemental analysis

QLX3 is a benchtop laser spectrometer for many applications. It determines the elemental composition of solid matter within few seconds and minimum operator activity. Its innovative concept overcomes many of the limitations and restrictions of other technologies.

Latest developments in laser and detector technology have enabled us to create this unique analytical instrument. Initially the focus is on all types of metal applications. But the technology is also suitable for various other applications in minerals & mining, cement, slags, etc.

QLX3Spark – classical spark spectrometry – re-fined

QLX3Spark is a spark spectrometer designed for the needs of small and medium-size foundries and the metal processing industries. The compact, high-quality, and affordable instrument is available for cast iron & steels, aluminium, copper alloys, and further base metals. It follows the concept of classical spark spectrometers but features modern, state-of-the-art components. QLX3Spark is a workhorse for even rough environments.

QLX3Spark is probably the most economic solution for your business. It does not only reduce required capital expense (CAPEX), but – due to software and usage-driven Argon saving modes, single sample standardisation, and reduced maintenance – also keeps operational costs (OPEX) at a minimum and uptime at a maximum.

AlloyChecker – the new handheld laser spectrometer for Metal Identification

AlloyChecker is a handheld laser spectrometer for various applications in the metal industries. It is a light handheld device for extremely fast alloy identification (PMI). With a weight below one kilogram and around 1200 grams including battery, the unit is super-light and a pleasure to work with for long hours.

Typically the instrument is used for metal sorting and positive material identification (PMI). The portfolio of available calibrations range from ferrous matrices to aluminium and zinc alloys.

AlloyChecker is light and fast testing tool and your best choice when you need proper results, identify tricky materials, require rapid results to complete a high number of measurements in no time.

The instrument features a main unit with a 4″ touch screen controller, integrated Li-ion battery, laser source, and electronics. The probe head has a safety switch and LEDs below the display indicate when the laser is on. The grade library can be edited via Wifi from your local PC. Various QuantoLux online services are also available to fuel the instrument for best fit in your application. A set calibration functions make it adjustable for special apps.
